How it works
Targeted diagnosis, targeted fix

A Targeted modernization starts with finding out what is actually failing, not assuming the whole elevator needs to be rebuilt.

01

Field diagnosis

We test the control system, doors, wiring and fixtures to separate what is failing from what still has life.

02

Scope proposal

A written scope covering exactly what gets replaced, and what does not, with the reasoning behind each line. Filings tied to the systems being replaced are handled by us.

03

Installation

New drive, controls, door operators and fixtures installed with minimal downtime, generally shorter than a Prime modernization since the machine and cab stay in place.

04

Verification

Full functional testing and code-inspection support before handover.

Scope of work

What the Targeted Modernization Package actually includes

The Targeted Modernization Package replaces everything in Essential, plus the systems that fail most often in an aging elevator: the drive, the control system, the doors and the fixtures.

01

Everything in Essential

The code-required scope is included as a baseline, not repeated as separate work.

  • Safety circuits and wiring brought to current code
  • Non-compliant control components corrected
  • Inspection support through a passed inspection
02

Drive, controls and dispatching

New controls decide how the elevator dispatches, accelerates and lands.

  • New drive and control boards
  • New microprocessor controller replacing the original logic
  • Dispatching set up for the building: simplex, duplex or group
  • Speed profile, acceleration and door timing tuned on site
  • New hoistway and machine room wiring
03

Door operators and protection

Door equipment causes more shutdowns than anything else, so it is replaced.

  • New car door operator
  • Landing door equipment: hangers, rollers, closers and interlocks
  • Door protection with an infrared detector edge
04

Fixtures and signals

What passengers touch and read is renewed at the car and at every landing.

  • New car operating panel and hall stations
  • Position indicators and arrival lanterns
  • The existing cab interior stays in place
What drives the scopeThe Targeted package is sized to the systems that are actually failing. If your machine, hoist ropes or cabin interior also need work, the Prime package is the better fit. If your issue is limited to an open violation with no functional failures, the Essential package may be enough. We confirm which one applies after the survey.

Is Targeted enough?

When Targeted is not the right level

The Targeted package is sized to the systems that are actually failing. If your building looks like either case below, a different level fits better.

Old or out-of-parts equipment

If the machine, hoist ropes or cabin interior also need replacement, or the equipment is 25 or more years old or out of parts, the Prime package is the better fit.

See Prime Package

Only an open violation

If your only issue is an open violation with no functional failures elsewhere, the Essential package may be enough.

Fix what's failing, keep what still has life
