There comes a time when it no longer makes sense to keep repairing the same components year after year. We modernize what is failing and keep what still works. Brouss will take care of it.
When we commit, we mean it. We modernize your escalator for safer, smoother, more efficient operation. We say what we will do, and we deliver it.
We upgrade controls, drives and handrail systems, tighten code compliance and cut downtime, so breakdowns stop interrupting the people who move through your building.
Certified Brouss techniciansFewer breakdowns and happier riders.
New, high-performing components.
A modern look visitors notice.
Up to the latest codes and standards.
Lower operating costs.

Tap every sign you see on your escalator. We mark the systems they point to in the Scope Explorer, so you know where the work would go.

Escalators keep moving even when nobody is riding. Enter your numbers and see the hours a year your units spend running with no one on them.
The result uses only the numbers you enter. Ask us what a renewed drive and controller can do for your units.
One team handles the whole project, with permits and inspections included.
We inspect every system on site and write a condition assessment report.
A scope built part by part. Brouss files the permits.
Deep cleaning, then step chain, drive, steps and handrails.
Controller and wiring work, drive reinstalled and aligned.
Safety and full-load testing, then the AHJ inspection.
Straight answers about escalator modernization, scope and timelines.
A partial modernization replaces or refurbishes the systems that are failing and keeps the ones that still perform, for example a new step chain and handrails with a refurbished motor and the existing controller. A full modernization renews all the major systems: controller, drive, step band, handrails and safety devices, while the truss and structure usually stay in place.
It depends on how many systems are affected and on parts availability. One worn component is usually a repair. Repeated breakdowns across several systems, or a controller with discontinued parts, is when modernization pays off. Our on-site evaluation and condition report make that call with evidence.
Yes, the unit is taken out of service and barricaded while the work is done. The duration depends on the scope and on parts availability, and we give you a detailed schedule when the contract is signed. In buildings with more than one escalator, units can be modernized one at a time.
Yes. Brouss obtains the permits, performs the testing and commissioning, and coordinates the inspection with the authority having jurisdiction. All work follows ASME A17.1, the Florida Building Code and OSHA.
Yes. Every modernization includes a written warranty on parts and labor from commissioning. Terms are listed in your proposal and depend on the scope of work.
We work on most major escalator brands and vintages. During the evaluation we survey your equipment and build the scope and parts strategy around what you actually have on site.
