What is included in an escalator maintenance visit?+
Examination, lubrication and adjustment of the steps and step chains, handrails, comb plates, skirt panels, drive machine and brakes, plus a functional test of every safety device: comb-impact switches, skirt-obstruction switches, handrail-entry guards, missing-step detection and emergency stops. Findings are logged and a status report is issued.
How often should escalators be maintained?+
Escalators run continuously and carry heavy foot traffic, so we recommend at least monthly preventive maintenance. High-traffic sites like malls, transit hubs and stadiums often benefit from more frequent visits, which we can build into your maintenance schedule.
Are escalator safety inspections required in Florida?+
Yes. Escalators are regulated conveyances and require periodic safety testing and annual inspection under the applicable ASME A17.1 / A17.3 code adopted by the state. Our technicians coordinate and assist with those inspections so nothing lapses.
What happens in an emergency or entrapment?+
Call our 24/7 emergency line. If someone is trapped or injured and life is at risk, call 911 first. Our technicians respond to bring the unit to a safe stop, clear the hazard and get the escalator back to a compliant, running state.
Can you manufacture escalator spare parts?+
Yes. In partnership with Brouss Manufacture, many escalator spare parts can be made in-house when a component is discontinued or on long lead time, keeping prices competitive and reducing how long a unit stays out of service.
Do you service my brand of escalator?+
We maintain most major escalator brands and vintages. During onboarding we survey your equipment and tailor the checklist and parts strategy to what you actually have on site.
