Straight answers about owning and caring for an ADA lift.

Usually a vertical platform lift: a platform with side guards and a gate that carries a wheelchair user up to a raised entrance, a stage or a mezzanine. Some buildings use inclined platform lifts that travel along a stair. Tell us what you have and we will confirm we can service it.

It depends on how much it is used, whether it sits outdoors and what the manufacturer recommends. We set the visit frequency for each lift after the first assessment.

Yes. Platform lifts are regulated in Florida and need a valid certificate of operation, which depends on passing periodic inspections. We prepare the lift and can be on site during the inspection.

Sun, rain and salt air are hard on outdoor lifts. Watch for rust on the tower and gate, water pooling under the platform, sticky buttons and a gate that does not latch on the first try. These are early signs, and they cost less to fix early.

Most platform lifts have battery or manual lowering so the rider can get down safely. We test it on maintenance visits, because a battery that is never checked may not hold a charge when it is needed.

Yes. We maintain and repair all brands of equipment, and through Brouss Manufacture we can make spare parts in-house when required.
